One of our supporters, Jez Andrews, will be competing in a major event by running the 2023 London Marathon on Sunday 23rd April to raise money for ADSS and show his appreciation for the support and advice we provided to his family during his Mother-in-law’s diagnosis.
Here is what Jez had to say about the support and advice we have given to his mother-in-law:
“My Mother-in-law has been progressively suffering with Alzheimer’s since 2017/18 and only recently received her diagnosis, although we knew something wasn’t right.
“ADSS has been very supportive with advice when we have been looking for answers and help for her”.
When asked why he chose to compete in the London Marathon and if he was a runner, Jez replied,
“I have been running for 6 years and I have completed the Brighton Marathon in 2018 which was the most challenging thing I have ever done, vowing never to run another one unless I got the London marathon. Well last October the ballot came in and I had got a place.
I decided after friends and family kept asking if I was going to raise some donations for charity to do yours.”
We are so grateful to Jez for taking on this amazing challenge to help people affect by Dementia.
